Welcome to the Family Dispute Resolution Centre. You've been referred here before filing any court application. Is that correct?

Family dispute resolution is a process where both parties try to reach an agreement about children's arrangements without going to court. Is the other party willing to participate?

Mediator
That's not a problem. We can arrange a free interpreter for the mediation sessions. Everything said in mediation is confidential.

If mediation doesn't reach an agreement, I'll issue a Section 60I certificate, which allows you to apply to the Family Court. You may also be eligible for legal aid funding.

Legal Aid provides free legal representation to people who can't afford a lawyer. You'd need to pass a means test and a merit test to qualify.

Usually two to three sessions of about two hours each. We'll schedule the first session with both parties present within the next two weeks.
