Enrolling in Primary School

Welcome! I understand you'd like to enrol your child in our school. How old is your child?

Principal
That's not a problem at all. We have an English as an Additional Language program — EAL/D — that provides extra English support. He'll attend regular classes but get additional help.

Principal
Public schools in Australia are free for permanent residents and citizens. There's a small voluntary contribution of about fifty dollars per year, but it's not compulsory.

Principal
We have a uniform shop on Tuesdays. We also have a second-hand uniform pool for families who need it. No child is turned away for uniform reasons.

Principal
Students bring their own lunch, but the school canteen sells food on most days. We also run a breakfast club three mornings a week if needed.

Principal
Absolutely. We have parent-teacher meetings twice a year, and you can request a meeting anytime. We can arrange an interpreter for those meetings.
